13/05/26 - Once - Update - I went to America Part 2:
I posted up the video to You Tube and decided to release the song as a single on 1/06/26.
12/05/26 - Once - Session 4 - I went to America Part 2:
I had to correct a word on, 'I went to America'. Then it was time to do the electric lead guitar on, 'Electric blues and me' and some subtle slide on, 'Guardian angel'. I don't play the electric guitar much these days, but I did enjoy it. I should do it more often.
28/04/26 - Once - Session 3 - I went to America Part 2:
I have spent months working on a song about my trip to America last year to see, 'Hot Tuna'. It's been a long and painful process, but I was determined to complete it and after going down many blind allies, I arrived at a version and we recorded it. Guitar and narrated vocal, with the middle bit of the song about my 4-days in New York, just featuring voice and the sound of New York. The guitar is a light touch homage to the sound of acoustic, 'Hot Tuna' - although, I'm not claiming to be even close to 'Jorma' when it comes to playing. We got the song down, I think I like it. Kevin will add bass and I'll make a video for You Tube featuring photos from the trip.
17/04/26 - Once - Session 2 - Electric blues and me:
Heather brought her 7-year old granddaughter along for her first studio session and she recorded the opening line for, 'Guardian angel'. Heather recorded a couple of harmonies and then hit the road with Allana for some quality granny time. I then recorded guitar & vocal for, 'Electric blues and me'. Another great session and thank you to Allana and Heather.
07/04/26 - Once - Session 1 - Guardian angel:
Back in the studio with Kevin Jones. This is my 11th project with Kevin, so I'm calling it, 'Once' (Spanish for 11 and English for so much more). We started out recording my new 'tongue drum', guitar and vocals for, 'Guardian angel'. I wrote the song when I was 31 and it was recorded by different vocalists (Alison, Sarah & Simon) over the early years. I've been playing it live recently and have enjoyed getting some big sing-along's going, so I thought it was about time I recorded a version with me on vocals. A good start to the new project. Guardian Angel

Fun in the studio. The intro to 'Guardian Angel', featuring Allana's first time in a recording studio. She was joined by seasoned campaigners, Heather, Kev & me. Plus a first outing for my Tongue Drum. The complete song will open my next EP, 'Once' (Spanish for 11).

Here's my third song, 'I like to be sad' recorded on the 21/07/25. A bit of fun to finish, complete with Kazoo and watch out for the swan. Heather and I are back on the boat in June as a duo.

Great evening at The Philharmonic Dining Rooms in Liverpool. A talk by Chris Martin IV - the CEO of Martin Guitars. Wonderful evening with each guitar demonstrated by a great player. A free beer and a selfie featuring two Chris Martins!

07/03/26 - Instrumentals 2 -
I love writing short instrumentals using GarageBand on my iPad. I can take it with me on holiday and enjoy the environment, whilst coming up with little ditties. I've put another 20 of them on this second album of GB instrumentals. It's good fun working with the sounds and grooves.

01/01/26 - Looking back & looking forward:
2025 - I completed my EP, 'Eclectic Wilderness' and released an album featuring 20 short instrumentals. A good year and I've plenty of plans for 2026. Keep watching and listening - Happy New Year. x
